The Jewish Past of Laupheim | ||
How it all began | The
Steiner Family The Steiner family stands for a very rich and wealthy Jewish family. Originally they were merchants; finally they became rich enough to buy, in 1843, the castle Schloss Grosslaupheim from the King of Wuerttemberg. Its most important member was Kilian von Steiner. This family lived here until 1961, when the last male Steiner sold the castle and the surrounding gardens to the community of Laupheim. |
